Pullborough
The village of Pulborough grew up around a traditional fording point on the Arun. The area has some of the most extensive Roman settlements north of the South Downs and is recorded in the Domesday Book.
Parts of the church date from the 12th century and the nearby Stopham Bridge was built in 1309. Today the village boasts over 100 listed buildings. The fields around the village are frequently flooded by the Arun and this helps form a valuable habitat for wildfowl.
