Welcome to the Arun Valley Line
The Arun Valley Line is one of South East England's most scenic railway lines. It follows the path of the River Arun as it meanders towards the English Channel, passing through the newly formed national park and linking some quintessentially English towns and villages.
The Arun Valley Line, originally known as the Mid-Sussex Route, was started in 1848 and completed 15 years later in 1863. It was electrified in 1938.
This website follows the course of the railway line looking at some of the stops along the route and the places of interest nearby.
